FAQ

Questions ISPs ask us.

Getting started

Who can join DeeISP360?

Registered internet service providers and hotspot operators in Kenya: fibre/GPON ISPs, wireless ISPs, public Wi-Fi operators and building networks. We review each application to make sure the setup will work for you.

How does the application work?

You apply on this website with your company details, network, plan, portal address and documents. Our team reviews it within one business day, provisions your portal and sends the owner an invite link by email and SMS. The owner sets a password and two-step sign-in, then follows the onboarding checklist.

What documents do I need?

Your certificate of incorporation or business registration and your KRA PIN certificate. A Communications Authority licence helps but is optional at application.

How long until we are live?

Most ISPs go live within a week of approval. The biggest steps are connecting your Paybill through Daraja, linking routers and importing customers; we do them with you.

Is there a trial?

Yes. After approval you get a 14-day trial (30 days on Enterprise) to set up and test with real payments before your first invoice.

My invite link expired. What now?

Invite links are valid for 72 hours and work once. Check your application's status page and choose Resend invite, or contact us.

M-Pesa & billing

Does the money go to DeeISP360?

No. Your customers pay to your own Paybill or Till; the money goes straight to your M-Pesa account. DeeISP360 only receives the payment notification to match it and reconnect the customer.

What if a customer types the wrong account number?

We try the account number, then the phone number, then a close match on the account. Anything that still cannot be matched goes to a suspense queue with suggested customers, so finance can match it in one click.

How fast is a customer reconnected after paying?

Usually in two to three seconds from the M-Pesa callback. The live feed shows the time for every payment, and anything slower than five seconds is highlighted.

Can customers pay part of their bill?

Yes, if you allow it. Part payments go to the customer's balance and are used at the next renewal.

Do you support daily and weekly packages?

Yes: monthly, weekly, daily and time-based hotspot packages, each with its own grace period and suspension rules.

Can I record cash payments?

Yes. Cash, bank and cheque payments are recorded with a receipt number and need a second person's approval.

Network & routers

Which routers do you support?

MikroTik RouterOS 6.49 and 7, including the CCR2004, CCR2116, CCR1036, RB5009, RB4011 and RB3011. Larger networks can use FreeRADIUS instead of the direct API.

Do I have to open my router to the internet?

No. We connect over an encrypted API port restricted to our servers' addresses, or through a VPN tunnel from your core router. We set this up with you.

What happens if a router is unreachable?

Jobs for that router wait and retry automatically, you get an alert, and the hourly sync puts everything right once it is back.

Which OLTs can you monitor?

Huawei, ZTE and V-SOL OLTs today, with C-Data and BDCOM on request. Monitoring reads PON ports and each ONU's optical power.

Can I keep my existing PPPoE usernames and passwords?

Yes. When we import your customers we keep their existing PPPoE credentials so nobody has to reconfigure their router.

Plans & account

How is the price worked out?

By your plan and your number of active subscribers. Above the plan's limit, each extra active subscriber is billed at the plan's rate. See the calculator on the pricing page.

Can I add staff, technicians and resellers?

Yes. Each plan includes a number of staff accounts. Technicians use the phone app; resellers get their own restricted portal with the Reseller Portal module.

Can I use my own domain?

On Growth and above you can use your own domain, such as portal.yourisp.co.ke, in addition to yourisp.deeisp360.com.

Can I export my data?

Yes, at any time: customers, payments, invoices and reports export to CSV and Excel. If you leave, your data is kept for 90 days for export, then deleted.

Security & data

Is my data kept separate from other ISPs'?

Yes. Each ISP's data is isolated, and staff of one ISP can never see another's. Our own support team can only open your portal with a stated reason, for a limited time, and every visit is recorded in your audit log.

Where is the data stored?

In secure cloud data centres, encrypted at rest and in transit, with daily backups. See the Security page for details.

How do you handle my customers' personal data?

As a data processor under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, on your instructions. See our Privacy Notice.

Put your billing and network on autopilot.

Apply in about ten minutes. Our team reviews it within one business day, then the owner gets an invite to their own portal.
